On the 16th of April, Raffa Bowls players David Farrugia, Reno Farrugia and Stefan Farrugia accompanied by the Malta Raffa Bowls Club President, Adrian Sciberras, will be present in Hard, Austria to participate at an international tournament. Sixteen international teams were chosen to participate, and will be split in four groups. Austria will have four teams, Germany three, Switzerland three, Italy two, whilst Russia, Poland, Liechtenstein and Malta will have one team each.

This is a high-level tournament attracting the best players of Europe and the event will be monitored by the EBA (European Bowls Association) and also by CBI (Confederazione Boccistica Internazionale).

The participation of Malta’s team is possible with the help of the Maltese Olympic Committee, Sport Malta as well as David Farrugia’s main sponsor Fairwinds Management Limited, and Electrical Supplies & Services Ltd (ESS) that kindly sponsored the kit for the team.

The Malta Raffa Bowls Club also recently launched its new website www.raffabowls.com.mt. The Club, founded last year, has been working hard in the past months to set up a proper structure for the club and its fans, and plans has been set for the future, by “building premises in B’Kara to function as training grounds and to increase awareness about Raffa Bowls by promoting this sports to the younger generation” said the club’s President, Adrian Sciberras.

The website goes through various information about the club and its membership, general information on the Raffa Bowls sports, together with a collection of photos handed over by David Farrugia, Malta’s top Raffa Bowls player, taken during his various international championships.
