Numru rekord to 185 atleta, bejn l-eta’ ta’ 6  u 20 il-sena ħadu sehem fil-Kampjonati Nazzjonali tal-Karate 2016 organizzati mill-‘Malta Karate Federation’ (MKF), li saru f’Savio College Ħad-Dingli, fit-12 u 13 ta’ Novembru.

“Kienet sena attiva hafna għall-MKF, fejn iffukajna biex nghatu l’opportunita lill’atleti tghana jigu esposti ghall kompetizzjonijiet il barra minn xtutna.  F’Settembru ilqajna 6 pajjizi fostna ghat-Tielet Edizzjoni Tal- Kampjonati Tal-IStati iz-Zghir ta’ l’Ewropa fejn kellna record ta’ 250 partecipant.  ‘Team Malta’ irnexxielu jikseb it-tielet post f’dawn il-kampjonati.  Rajna lill-atleti promittenti taghna jiehdu sehem f’mhux anqas minn tnax il kompetizzjoni u stharrig internazzjonali fostom il-World Karate Championships li saru fl’Awstrija ix-xghar li ghadda.  Din is-sena ksibna rizultati tajbin hafna u dan jinkuraggixxi lis-Senseis taghna, lill-Board Tekniku kif ukoll lill-Atleti biex ikomplu jiffukaw fuq l’att tekniku u b’hekk nassiguraw li l’atleti taghna ikunu preparati tajjeb ghall-isfidi li-gejjin.” Dan kien il-kumment tal-President tal-Malta Karate Federation is-Sur Kenneth Abela.

National Karate Championships Solidarjeta’ Bl-Isports 2016

A record number of 185 athletes aged between 6 and 20 years took part in this year’s Karate National Championships which were held at Savio College Dingli on the 12th and 13th November.

“This year was a very active year for MKF, having focused on giving our athletes international exposure. We hosted the 3rd edition of The Small States of Europe Karate Championships in September which had record participation of 250 athletes.  Malta Team managed to secure 3rd place overall.  We have seen our elite athletes taking part in 12 international competitions and training seminars, including the World Karate Championships which were held in Austria last month.  This year we had rewarding results and this encourages our senseis, technical board as well as our athletes to keep focusing on improving the technical aspect thus ensuring our athletes are well prepared for the challenges that lie ahead”, said MKF President Mr Kenneth Abela.
