Valletta Subbuteo Club – Double Winners.

Last weekend, at the St. George’s Band Club in Cospicua, the Valletta Subbuteo Club won the Malta Table Football Club Championship for the fifth consecutive year and the twelfth in their history. Four clubs took part in this season championship on a two round competition. The capital city team won all the games, with their main rivals Bormla finishing second. With these placing’s, both Bormla and Valletta Subbuteo Clubs qualified for next season’s FISTF European championships that will be played in October. The MTFSA Knock Out was also played on the day, with Valletta SC claiming a double by beating Valletta Lions 4-0 in the semifinal and Bormla SC 3-1 in the final. All these games where organized by the MTFSA, the local National Association of Table Football. The Valletta Subbuteo Club team was composed by Samuel Bartolo, Mario Camilleri, Derek Conti, Andrew Abela, Jason Pisani, Roderick Vassallo and Joseph Borg Bonaci. Some weeks ago, the Valletta Subbuteo Club won the FISTF International Open that was held in the Malta China Friendship Society’s hall, in Valletta, they also took part in the Grand Prix of Milan and the Major of Rome, with satisfactory results. In a forth night’s time, the City club will be travelling to Enderby, Leicester, for the English Grand Prix.
