The Maltese Olympic Committee announced the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta and the Malta Taekwondo Association will be benefitting from funding provided by the Olympic Solidarity Youth Athlete Development Scheme.

The scheme aims to provide financial support to young athletes who have the potential to participate in national, continental, or international youth competitions and/or the Youth Olympic Games.

The identified athletes are Ana Culic and Thea Blake (Artistic Swimming) and Michaela Scerri and Nathan Degiorgio (Taekwondo).  The latter will be benefitting from exposure to the European High-Performance Programme which provides small countries, like Malta, with conditions for an elite training environment.

The selected athletes will be offered development opportunities organised by the International Federations through variable-term training courses and training camps in view of youth competitions.
