Athlete Beppe Grillo selected for Team Malta in Paris 2024

The Maltese Olympic Committee has announced the selection Beppe Grillo who will join the Maltese contingent for the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris, scheduled from July 26th to August 11th.

Athlete Beppe Grillo has also been showing his mettle, notably at the recently held Balkan Championships in Izmir, where he broke Malta’s 100m national record after nearly a decade. Grillo clocked 10.23 seconds to finish in third place, earning a bronze medal for Malta and setting a new national benchmark.

Grillo will be joining  shooter Gianluca Chetcuti and judoka Katryna Esposito, who’s selection was announced earlier on this month.

Team Malta athletes have been chosen through the Universality Places programme, which is assigned by the Olympic Games Tripartite Commission.  Selection criteria included the athletes’ international competitive experience, technical level, and commitment to qualifying for the Olympic Games by participating in the relevant qualifying events.

The Maltese Olympic Committee contingent in Paris is supported by Olympic Solidarity, SportMalta and APS Bank.
