The Malta Tenpin Bowling Association announced the selection of Team Malta for the upcoming Mediterranean Bowling Championships. The championships are held every year in April and are open to all Mediterranean Countries. Each country will send a team of 4 bowlers.
The selection process was based over 24 games. The eventual winners are Sue Abela, Sara Xuereb, Mauro Anastasi, Justin Caruana Scicluna. All four bowlers have previous experience in the Mediterranean Championships and have won medals for Malta. Actually, Sue Abela has already contested a record 20 editions and is the most decorated bowler in the championships.
Team Malta won 5 medals in the last edition held in Slovenia to place Malta in the leading spot of the all time medal tally with 39 Gold medals over the 20 editions. Greece are in second place followed by France and Italy. The team is preparing and training hard to defend Malta’s leading spot.
The 2018 edition will be held in Turkey.
