Affiliated members of the Maltese Olympic Committee were recently hosted to a half-day seminar aimed at sharing useful knowledge and best practices intended towards making their day-to-day operations more productive.
Participants were welcomed by the President of the Maltese Olympic Committee, Julian Pace Bonello who explained that these events not only serve as a networking opportunity for sports associations and federations but also are a result of the feedback received by the MOC as to how to improve it operations and interactions with its affiliated members.
Amongst the topics covered were tips on how to navigate through Media Relations by the Director of Media and PR, Maria Vella-Galea, the new technical structure within the MOC was explained by Director of Sport Charlene Attard whilst Dr Lucienne Attard, Executive Board Director delivered a presentation about Sports Integrity and Safeguarding.
A presentation by Martin Borg from EduAlliance gave those present a good understanding of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding relating to the acquisition of potential EU funds by member associations and how they can tap into potential funding for their projects.
As part of its efforts to provide a system that will facilitate document sharing, the MOC provided a hands-on exercise on the recently introduced Microsoft Teams system. This system is aimed to integrate stakeholders’ interactions as well as provide a centralised repository for them to share and document their respective content.
MOC Secretary General Kevin Azzopardi concluded by highlighting several initiatives that will be rolled out in the coming weeks, explaining their benefits to local sport, and emphasised that this kind of seminar, which brings stakeholders together, will start to take place regularly.
