In its efforts to build a more professional and qualified sporting community, the Maltese Olympic Committee announced the hosting of a course in Strength and Conditioning.
The course, which will be presented by the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) is a Level 1 course aimed at enhancing athletic performance. The ASCA-accredited course is recognised worldwide and provides certification based on the knowledge on how to design, apply and review training programs to improve athletic performance.
This will be the first time such a course will be organised in Malta and thus highly recommended for those practitioners seeking to become qualified and further their careers. Upon completion, candidates will be able to continue onto Level 2 which will be organised at a later stage.
“Strength and conditioning in sport have become regarded as an important facet of athlete preparation. It is an all-around training to complement an athlete’s sports-specific skills development which is imperative for sporting success,” explained Nigel McCarthy, Director, Maltese Olympic Committee. “This course will certainly pave the way to a different mindset when preparing athletes for competition”.
Places are very limited for the course which will take place on the 1st and 2nd October at the National Swimming Pool Complex in Tal-Qroqq.
Interested applicants registering before the 10th of September will benefit from a discounted rate of €150. Applications received after that date will be charged at €225.
