Shooter Marlon Attard qualifies for Skeet Final Event

Shooter Marlon Attard continued his fine showing at the Mediterranean Games in Oran, when he progressed to the final round of the Men’s Skeet Competition at the Centre de Tir Hassi Ben Okba. Attard garnered 122 out of 125 points today, just two points behind Emanuel Petit (FRA) and one point behind Amzy Mehelba (EGY).

Attard will join the eight shooters who qualified for this afternoon’s final which will take place at 1600hrs Malta time.

This afternoon, ILCA Sailors Lacey Aquilina and Michaela Mifsud will be competing in three races, whilst IQFoil Class competitor Karl Miggiani did not compete today.

Miggiani who has a chest infection,  was following doctor’s orders to rest today, in the hope that he would be fit to compete tomorrow.   The light winds and shifty conditions that the sailors have been experiencing so far have made it more challenging for the Maltese sailors however, they have shown improvements, against Olympic level athletes, as racing progresses.

In the meantime, also this afternoon Malta will be competing in the Tennis Semi Finals, when  Elaine Genovese and Francesca Curmi return on court to play against Italian duo Nuria Brancaccio and Auroroa Zantedeschi in the Habib Khelil Tennis Complex at 2000hrs Malta Time.
