Ilum (is-sibt 28 ta’ April) ingħata bidu għal FISTF International Open u Gran Prix ta’Malta – Valletta 2018.

Din is-sena dan it-turnament internazzjonali ġie organiżat minn żewg klabbs rivali beltin il-Valletta Subbuteo Club u Valletta Lions TFC, iżda li inaqdu għall din is-sena specjali ta Valletta 2018.

Dan it-turnament qiegħed jsir ġewwa Dar il-Mediterran għall-Konferenzi, bl-isponsor principali, il-Malta Tourism Authority.

Illum kien hemm bidu għall kompetizjonijiet ta’ l’International Open individwali. Kellna il-parteċipazjoni ta’ 10 pajjizi li huma Malta, Franza, Italja, Spanja, Ġermanja, Awstralja, Grecja, Skozja, Russja u Tuneżija.

Fil-kompetizjoni tal-kategorija Open kien hemm 26 il-parteċipant. Fil-finali wasslu l-plejer Malti Samuel Bartolo ta’ Valletta Subbuteo Club u l-Belġjan Christope Dheur ta’tim Charleroi.  Ir- rebbieħ ta’ din il-kategorija kien Samuel Bartoli bl-iskor ta’ 1-0.

Fil-kompetizjoni tal-veterani kien hemm 15 il-partecipant. Fil-finali reġa kellna plejer Malti kontra plejer Belgjan.  Il-plejer Malti Mario Camilleri ta’Valletta Subbuteo Club kontra l-plejer Belġjan Vito di Ruggiero ta’ Charleroi. Ir-rebbieħ kien Mario Camilleri bl-iskor ta 2-0.

Fil-kategorija ta taht id-dsatax-il sena kien hemm livel gholi ta loghob u fil-finali irnexxielhom jaslu l-plejer Grieg Dimitri Dimopolour ta’ Piraeus Lions u t-Taljan Armando Giuffre ta’ Messina Subbuteo Club   u rebbieh kien Armando Giuffre bl-iskor ta’ 1-0.

Tard wara nofs in-nhar ingħata bidu għal kompetizjonijiet ta timijiet tat-turnament tal-Grand Prix. Barra timijiet Maltin qed jippartecipaw ukoll tim mil-Greċja u ieħor mil-Italja.  Il-kompetizjoni ta’ timijiet titkompla għada l-Ħadd  filgħodu u wara ezatt jibdew il-kompetizjonijiet individwali tal-Grand Prix.  Il-logħob għada jibda fi 9.00am u xi 8.00pm mistennija ssir il-prezentazjoni.

 

Il-Ħadd komplew il-logħob ta’ t-timijiet.  Bdew bi semifinali bejn il-klabbs ta’ Valletta Subbuteo Club vs Valletta Lions TFC u Bormla Subbuteo Club vs Messina SC.

Għall-finali għaddew iż-żewġ klabbs Maltin Valletta Subbuteo Club u Bormla Subbuteo Club.  Għall Valletta Subbuteo Club lgħabu il-plejer Derek Conti, Joseph Borg Bonaci, Samuel Bartolo u l-Belġjan Pascal Scheen.  Għall-Bormla Subbuteo Club lgħabu, Charlie Aqiulina, Joseph Mifsud, George Ebejer/Mark Gauci u l-grieg Alberto di Maggio.  Kienet logħba akkanita u ta’ livel għoli ħafna.  Il-logħba spiċċat b’parita ta’ 1-1 u kellhom jmorru għal ħin barrani.  It-Titlu ntrebaħ minn Valletta Subbuteo Club bil-gowl ‘sudden death’ skurjat minn Joseph Borg Bonaci.

Wara ingħata bidu għall-logħob individwali tal-Grand prix. Reġa kien hem mil-Kompetizjoni Open li reġat intrebħet minn Samuel Bartolo ta’ VSC. Bartolo rebaħ kontra l-franċiż Axel Donval. Il-logħba bgħaqet f’parita anke fil-ħin barrani u b’hekk il-logħba ġiet deċiża bi ‘shots’.  Bartolo rebaħ 4-2,

Fil-kompetizjoni tal-Veterani wkoll reġat intrebħet minn Mario Camilleri.  Mario Camilleri lgħab il-finali tiegħu kontra l-plejer Taljan Lucio Canicchio.  Anke din il-logħba spiċċat f’parita wara il-ħin barrani u kella tiġi deċiża bi ‘shots’ 4-3.

Fil-kategorija ta’ taħt id-dsatax-il sena ir-rebbieħ kien il-plejer Grieg, Dimitris Dimopolous. Dimitris lgħab il-finali tiegħu kontra l-Malti Jamie Bonnici u spiċċat bl-iskor ta’ 2-0.

Kull sena dan it-turnament qed jgħolli livel tiegħu bi-kwalita għolja ta’ plejers minn Malta u anke minn barra minn xtutna.  Matul dawn il-jumejn żaruna bosta nies distinti fosthom Hon. Dr Deo Debattista, Hon Ryan Callus u CEO ta’ MCC Pierre Fenech fost oħrajn.


 

Table Football – FISTF International Open and Grand Prix of Malta – Valletta 2018

On Saturday 28th April 2018 was the first day of the FISTF International Open & Grand Prix of Malta – Valletta 2018.

Two rival clubs from Valletta, the Valletta Subbuteo Club and the Valletta Lions TFC agreed to organise this tournament together on this special year of Valletta 2018.

This International tournament was held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre and the main sponsor was the Malta Tourism Authority.

On Saturday the individual competitions kicked off in the morning with the participation of 10 countries, Malta, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Australia, Greece, Scotland, Russia and Tunisia.

In the Open category of the International Open competition there were 26 participants. The finalists were Samuel Bartolo of Valletta Subbuteo Club against the Belgian player Christope Dheur of Charleroi SC.  The winner was Samuel Bartolo with the score 1-0.

In the veteran category there were 15 participants.  Mario Camilleri played his final against the Belgian player Vito di Ruggiero of Charleroi.  Mario Camilleri was the winner with the score of 2-0,

In the U19 category there was a high level of competition.  The Greek player Dimitris Dimopolous played his final against the Italian player Armando Giuffre from Messina SC.  Armando Giuffre won this category with the score of 1-0.

Late in the afternoon, the Grand Prix team event began.  A team from Greece and another from Italy are participating together with the Maltese teams.  The team competition will continue tomorrow on Sunday 29th April. The tournament will start at 9.00am and at 8pm there will be the presentations.

On Sunday the team competitions continued with the semi-finals.

The semi-final matches were between Valletta Subbuteo Club vs Valletta Lions TFC and Bormla Subbuteo Club vs Messina SC.

Valletta Subbuteo Club and Bormla Subbuteo Club were the finalists.  The players of Valletta Subbuteo Club were Derek Conti, Joseph Borg Bonaci, Samuel Bartolo and the Belgian player Pascal Scheen.  The players for Bormla Subbuteo Club were Charlie Aquilina, Joseph Mifsud, George Ebejer/Mark Gauci and the Greek player Alberto di Maggio.

It was a very tough final, and they had to go to the extra time.  Valletta Subbuteo Club won the match by ‘sudden death’ a goal scored by Joseph Borg Bonaci against Joseph Mifsud.

The Grand Prix Individual competitions started right after the team event.

In the Grand Prix Open Category Samuel Bartolo of Valletta Subbuteo Club played the final against the French Axel Donval.  The result of the match even after the extra time was draw so it was decided by ‘shots’.  Samuel Bartolo won 4-2, making a double for himself.

In the Veteran Category again we have a Valletta Subbuteo Club player who won the double for himself as he won agaist the Italian Lucio Canicchio with ‘shots’ 4-3

The Greek Dimitris Dimopolous won the U19 Category against Jamie Bonnici with the score 2-0

These type of tournaments in Malta are increasing their level each year.  A lot of foreign players look forward to come and participate in Malta.  During this weekend we had some distinctive visitors, Hon Deo Debattista, Hon Ryan Callus , Pierre Fenech the CEO of MCC and others.
