The British Tenpin Bowling Association organised the first ever team event in Margate’s Bowling Centre. Teams were composed of 4 athletes and divided in 4 categories from 1st through to 4th division according to averages.

Team Malta was composed of Shadon Psaila, Ayrton Ciangura,  Reuben Scerri and Nicholas Muscat and played in Division 2 category.  Each team had to play 2 blocks of 3 games each.

The competition was intense as our boys started their first 3 games on shaky grounds.  After the break and on freshly oiled lanes, they improved to stand within 2 pins of the best bowled team, and 23 pins behind 2nd.  However their last game was a collective team effort and with a big game succeeded in climbing to top position 87 pins ahead of 2nd placed team.

Nicholas Muscat also won highest game award for division 2.

The team was presented with a commemorative trophy as well as a gold medal by tournament director Steve Allen.
