Malta Invitational Games

In a bid to boost sports that are not part of the Sports programme during the forthcoming Games of the Small States of Europe in 2023, the Maltese Olympic Committee has taken the initiative to host the inaugural edition of the Malta Invitational Games.

The first edition of these Games, held in October 2022 hosted 180 athletes, representing 10 countries including. Andorra, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, Luxembourg, Montenegro, San Marino and Malta.

The Sports Programme for 2022 included Bowling, Taekwondo and Triathlon

2022 Malta Invitational Games Schedule of Events

Bowling will take place at the Eden Super Bowl, St. Julian’s

 

Thursday 6th October   2100hrs    Singles Competition (Male & Female)

 

Saturday 8th October    1915hrs     Doubles Competition (Male & Female)

 

Sunday 9th October       1800hrs     Teams Competition

Taekwondo events including Flyweight, Featherweight, Welterweight and Heavyweight, have been given ranking status by World Taekwondo and will be hosted at the Qawra Palace Hotel

 

Thursday 6th October

  • Random Weigh In (cadets + juniors) – 07.00 to 08.00 hours
  • Weigh In (seniors) – 08.45 to 09.45 hours
  • Competition Kids/cadets/Juniors 10.15 to 13.15 hours
  • Kids/cadets/Juniors 15.15 to 18.00 hours

Friday 7th October

  • Random Weigh In (seniors) – 07.00 to 08.00 hours
  • Competition Seniors 11.00 to 12.30 hours
  • Seniors 15.00 hours

The Malta Triathlon Federation will be hosting a three day programme to include three multisport events over sprint distances – Duathlon, Aquathlon and Triathlon

 

Friday 7th October – Hal Far @ 1030hrs

  • Draft Legal Sprint Duathlon ( 4km Run/ 16km Bike / 4km Run)

Saturday 8th October – Birzebbugia @ 0730hrs

  • Sprint Aquathlon (2.5km Run / 1km Swim / 2.5km Run)

Sunday 9th October – Salina @ 0645hrs

  • Draft Legal Sprint Triathlon (750m Swim / 20km Bike /5km Run)
