Swimmer and Malta’s Flag bearer at the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony earlier on this morning competed in the 1,500m freestyle event at the Paris La Defense Arena.
Racing with two other swimmers – Singapore’s Gan Ching Hwee and Chile’s Kristel Kobrich, Gatt finished the race in a time of 17:00:54, which was not enough for her to progress to the final round of competition.
Subsequently Gatt tested positive for Covid-19, a few minutes after competing in her event and after complaining that she felt unwell.
